Construction of a school began in 1964 at Okolnya Street, and at the 1^st of September, 1965 a new collective under the direction of Vladimir Markovich Korytniy began to work. Since January, 1966 school 123 has become a school with deeped study of the French language.  

In 1973 the second director of the school Fedotova Rayisa Grigorievna initiated a construction of a new building at Batyrchina Street. After a year school met it' s pupils in a new building. In 1979 French delegation came to Republic from Perpinuan city and visited our school. The school has got many rewards: of Read Banner, Republic pioneer and komsomol organization.  

In 1988 Galieva Svetlana Minvaleevna became a new school director, and in 1992 our school got an honorable status of gymnasium with deeped study of the French. For the first time our gymnasium met very important delegation from France. During their visit French prime-minister Alan Gyupe and his wife Helen Gyupe came to our gymnasium.  

In 1998 Ilgiz Salakhovich Zakirov became director under his direction a hall and a dining-room were repaired. Gymnasium close cooperate with the French collective group and is visited by many guests.  

Today Gymnasium 9 is one the most respectable and famous school in Tatarstan Republic.
